Contemporary Craft is planning its first annual Torch-a-Thon event on November 15, 2025 from noon to midnight. During this 12-hour event, metalsmiths and jewelers will design and make ornaments, which will then be available for sale in CC’s Store on November 21 as part of CRAFTED. Part-fundraiser, part-production studio, and part-party, this event reaches across all areas of CC’s operations.

When:  Saturday, November 15th, noon until midnight.

What: The goal is to make as many ornaments as we can to sell in the Store at Contemporary Craft.  Each ornament will sell in the Store for $40 and the metalsmith who made the ornament will receive $20 for each ornament sold.  All materials will be provided. We are also asking each metalsmith to encourage their friends and family to sponsor them.  It is a “Thon” after all!

Why:  All of the sponsor money raised at this year’s Torch-a-Thon will fund new tools and equipment for the expanded metals studio and blacksmithing studio.

Welcome to Torch-a-Thon!

We can’t believe it’s time for our first annual Torch-a-Thon!  Part-fundraiser, part-production studio, and part-party, this event reaches across all areas of CC’s operations. This event is riding on the shirt tail of Loom Club and is being held in conjunction with Weave-a-thon!

What is weave-a-thon you ask? Here is a brief history! The first annual Weave-a-thon was held in November 2023.  Having no idea what to expect, they were completely overwhelmed by the response!  29 weavers wove over the course of 12 hours for a total of 101 hours of weaving.  This weaving produced 72 dish towels (which sold out in about one week) and raised $9300 to purchase a brand new, 8 harness, Macomber Loom (The Miranda!!!) for the Fiber Studio.

“In my five years at Contemporary Craft, nothing has brought me more joy than witnessing the community that has been built.  It is magical!  You are all magical! - “Allison Jones”

We can’t wait to dive in and bring the metals community together at Contemporary Craft for one day of fundraising and making in conjunction with weave-a-thon.

With gratitude,
