Archive

If not collected or purchased our work as artists is archived and stored. Unless it is a retrospective, most exhibitions request that artwork has been recently created - usually within the past few years. Archives of the Allegheny Metals Collective will highlight work from artists that is 7-15 years old.

In addition to artwork, we will also be displaying any inspiration or materials that helped with the ideation of the work. This could include drawings, photographs, objects, maquettes, etc. This support material will be displayed in specimen drawers that were discarded from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History several years ago and purchased from Construction Junction. In addition to the exhibition, we will also be holding a lecture for members and students talking about the importance of and documentation process for creating a living archive of one’s artwork.

Archives of the Allegheny Metals Collective will run October 12th – November 10th in the Jodee Harris Gallery at Seton Hill University.
